Il Trovatore (G. Verdi)

Connecticut Opera Hartford

Backing up Ms. Daltirus’ Leonora, was the evocative and distinctive voice of mezzo-soprano Patrizia Patelmo as the tortured Azucena. Ms. Patelmo’s Act II lament of her mother’sfirey execution and of the terrible deed of inadvertently casting her own baby into the flames, like an all-consuming firestorm itself, simply drew the air from the Bushnell and left the audience breathless. Her performance was glorious, rich, nuanced and appealingly humane. Brava!

Aida (G. Verdi)

Connecticut Opera Hartford

the velvety "mezzo" of "Patrizia Patelmo" as "Amneris" served as splendid foil to "Daltirus". a wonderful intensity colored he portrayal, especially in the final act, when he character changes before your eyes from a manipulative brat to the opera's conscience.

Da The Hartford courant 16/10/2004

And what can one say about mezzo-soprano Patrizia Patelmo’s performance as Amneris? One can say plenty: inspired, powerful, deeply emotional and flawless. Patelmo’s arias were breathtaking and her delivery was sure and even throughout. She moves well about the stage and, like Daltirus, shows a level of depth needed for these more dramatic roles. It was her Connecticut Opera debut, and one can only hope it is not an infrequent happening.

Aida (G. Verdi)

Heidenheim Germania

the witch, "Ulrica" who predicts the king's death, was finely drawn by "mezzo", "Patrizia Patelmo" from Italy.  The voice    has a sound all its own, harsh, metallic, strong and strangely interesting its "sinister" quality. I liked her characterization.
